Ed. Tech Reflection
Some thoughts to hang onto following tech inservice by insightful but abrasive education consultant:
1. Schools that set only optional technology learning goals rarely achieve a transformative impact on students.
2. A transformative impact is only achieved when students have choices and control of their learning goals.
3. One prescriptive approach is to determine how much computer time each student should receive and then to set goals of how that time should be used.
Hmmm... must give more thought to connecting that choices piece while remaining true to the standards. It clearly relates to autonomous learning emphasized in the Fr201 concept lessons. Fun and effective. How can I transfer that to the other subjects?
Also, this information really should be passed on to the boss.
